BIG TALK topic for weekend 4-5 September: All will be revealed on Friday 3rd! Welcome to a new school year at Staining! I hope you are all looking forward to the new school year, whether you are returning after the summer break or coming to Staining School for the first time. We welcome Ms Weir back to school after her maternity leave - she will be teaching in Year 3. We also welcome Mr Maloney who is joining us from Hawes Side Primary School. He will be teaching in Year 5 and is a member of the school's leadership team. A particularly big welcome to all the new children and parents who are joining our school family this September. I hope you all have a very happy time at Staining School. This first half term is all about getting to know eachother in our new classes with new teachers. For those of you who are new, if there is anything you are unsure of, please ask! We know that not everyone is familiar with how schools operate and you can be sure that if you have a question, others will as well! We want to ensure that the start of the new school year is a happy and positive experience for children and parents alike and spend a lot of time on our induction procedures for new children as well as establishing classroom routines for those moving up a year. Once everyone has settled in we will be holding our first parents' evening on 30th September. This will be an opportunity to meet your child's class teacher if you haven't already done so, and share information about the important first month at school. I am sure it will be a happy one. I am looking forward to seeing many familiar faces returning after their summer holiday as well as getting to know lots of new children and their parents when they join us in September.
